I’m happy to meet on Zoom. If you live in Seattle, we can meet in a coffee shop, or do a walk. Sometimes, I can come to your office or workshop.
I’m based in Green Lake, so North Seattle is where I commonly meet with people.
-
It’s free to meet me in the North Seattle area - like Green Lake, Ballard, Phinney, Northgate, etc.
The travel fee is $40.
This applies for anywhere South of the Ship Canal. And north of 145th.
-
Absolutely!
You can either put it under “Contract Labor” … or make an other category. “Other - Professional Development” or “Other - Small Business Consulting”.
-
At a minimum, add about 20 minutes to our meeting time.
For 10 minutes before and after. Especially if we’re in a coffee shop, so it gives us time to get our drinks and get settled. I like to start with a little bit of chatting - so we can get to know each other just a little bit, or catch up if we’ve worked before.
The clock starts once we get to work! (I don’t charge for the warming up or saying goodbye.)
Bonus! Plan in some buffer time before, so you can transition from whatever you were doing. And some time after - to capture any thoughts, make any to-do lists as a result, or schedule any plans.
One-Time Consults
-
This is business help when you need it! They are called “one-time” to show that they’re stand alone offerings. (Not part of a package. There’s no big commitment.) They are designed to bring you immediate relief or progress in one area of your business.
Yes, we can meet more than once! You can schedule as needed, however it’s most helpful to you. Examples … One-offs: call me in when needed for a specific thing. Regular cadence: for check-ins, feeling supported. A quick cluster: is great for making lots of progress. Read more on Working Together. -
Usually we start with chatting a little - (off-the-clock.) Then, we start with you talking… this can be for 10 - 30 minutes. (Sometimes more!) You do a big download around the topic. And/or read a list of questions. I might ask you some follow-up questions to learn a bit more.
Next, I respond to what you shared. Depending on what you’e looking for … If you had a list of questions, I’ll start answering them. If you need help doing a specific thing, I’ll guide you - or walk with you - through that process. Or if you needed a sounding board … we’ll start workshopping your idea.
If you brought up several topics, or you weren’t quite sure what you needed … I will present a few ways to use the consult, an you’ll choose the direction.
The goal - is always - that you walk away with at least ONE POTENT RESULT. Whether we got thing done (like raising your rates), or new reframe or strategy (like I need to say No to a certain type of client). You will usually get several other results as well! -
You can totally choose how to prepare … depending on what feels good + easy for you. Here are three common ways to prepare. Option 1 / List out your questions, or the tasks you’d like to get done. Option 2 / Ask me for a Warm-up Journal. Option 3 / Nothing formal - use the beginning of our session to talk a bit, and start to hone in on what you want.
Strongly recommended, curate your time afterward. If possible, have some open time directly after - to capture any additional thoughts, or make pland for flollrw-up work. Bonus if possible, create a gentle evening for yourself afterward. This work can be deep, sometimes it hits tender spots … so it’s nice to get some ease and pampering later.
Tax Season
Do you know any great accountants or bookkeepers?
Check out this blog post for answers to this question! Good luck with your search, and I’d love to hear if you like one of these folks or find someone new that’s great.
I’m new to owning my business. Will coming to your Tax Party give me enough knowledge to file my taxes?
Quick answer
If you’re new to doing taxes for your business, it’s possible to get them done at a Tax Party - if you’re a quick study, and if this stuff feels fun.
Longer answer
Usually, it's best to combine with another tax class or a consult, so that you’ve got the knowledge you need. (Especially if you feel any anxiety around this stuff.)
The Tax Parties are designed:
♡ To be primarily work times - with guidance offered through handouts - and I’m available for limited questions
♡ Like a self-led adventure with snacks
♡ For people attending - to have a framework, background, or some working knowledge
Consider pairing with a 75-min class: IRS Taxes ☆ A Friendly Walkthrough
Which of your tax events is the best fit for me? What’s the difference?
Taxstravaganza!!! is the most comprehensive event. It’s part learning and part doing. We cover how to think about tax season as a whole, we collect our numbers, we review what’s needed for Seattle, WA and the IRS. We file Seattle taxes. We file WA taxes. Then we prep for the IRS, and get started with the filing process. 6.5 hours
Tax Partie$ are for doing. It’s a place to work on your taxes, in a Happy Hour setting, with food, drinks, music, good vibes … and some support. There are handouts provided. I’m available for quick 1-on-1 help. It’s best with prior knowledge or if you’re a quick study. 4 hours
IRS Taxes ☆ A Friendly Walkthrough A 75-min class for learning. Happens right before a Tax Party … to make the perfect pairing.
Seattle + WA Taxes ☆ A Workshop A 75-min workshop. Where we learn about, then do … your local taxes! This is especially helpful for anyone dealing with sales tax.
I’m new to this … what do you recommend? Getting 1-on-1 help, or going to an event?

If you’re open to it, doing a 1-on-1 Friendly Tax Consult, really is the best. Since we can go exactly at your own pace, answer all your questions, and actually do the work together. We can create custom checklists and worksheets to help you move forward. Read more here, Schedule here.

Taxstravaganza!!! is a 2nd best. It’s comprehensive, and it can be reassuring to see others going through the same stuff.

A Tax Party can be great, if it’s paired with some prior learning. I’m offering 2 different classes - 75 min each - that happen right before the Tax Parties. So, if you like to do things with groups, this is a great way too.
I live outside of Washington state, can you still help me taxes in other states?
Yes! Depending on what you need.
What I can do / help you with:
IRS taxes - for businesses in any state
Walkthroughs, tutorials, prepping your numbers, and/or I can be your filing wingwoman
Getting clear on all your numbers, so you can do local business taxes easily
Feeling comfortable and calm around money, taxes, forms, claiming / reclaiming your power and confidence in this area.
Research your local requirements, to help you file any biz taxes in your city/state
Make you custom checklists to keep it all together.
Caveats / limitations:
I work with sole proprietors, and single-member LLCs
(I hope to work with S-Corps in the future.)
For doing biz chores outside of WA - like renewing your LLC, filing local taxes, setting up a biz - please know as we do this, I’ll be learning along with you. Usually, I’m a quick study though!
I’m not an accountant … my expertise is the basics, my focus is helping you understand your taxes, and do all that you can do … if your situation calls for more expertise, I’ll be upfront about it
